FEATURES AND BENEFITS
OVERVIEW
The Bridgestone DriveGuard is a performance and high performance, all season tire manufactured for passenger vehicles and SUVs. It has some touring sizes as well. Bridgestone offers a 50,000 mile tread wear warranty with the W speed rated sizes and a 60,000 mile tread wear warranty with the H and V speed rated sizes of this tire model.
This model offers excellent all weather traction. The tread design and tire compound grip the road well in dry, wet and winter weather conditions, creating a versatile tire that can be used all year. The circumferential tread grooves channel water from beneath the tire's footprint, enhancing the hydroplaning resistance in dangerous situations. The tire becomes safer to use in all weather because of this feature.
The tire is a run flat model, which means the tire's reinforced sidewalls can temporarily temporarily support the weight of the vehicle and its passengers after the loss of air pressure. In the case of air pressure loss, the sidewalls support the tire and it can be driver on for 50 miles at up to 50 mph. This allows the driver to get to a safe destination to change or repair the tire, and not be stranded on the side of the road. Run flat tires are recommended for vehicles that have no space for a spare tire and they cannot be mixed with regular tires due to their heavier weight.
The run flat feature of this model is further enhanced with its heat and puncture resistance. The tread compound and the tire structure offer extra resistance against accidental damages, such as punctures. However, if a puncture does happen the tire's heat gets redistributed through the tire because the cooling fin design allows it. These features make the tire safer to drive experience.
The DriveGuard offers a longer lasting tread life. The tire compound and pattern promote even wear as the forces of accelerating, braking and cornering are equally distributed along the tread area of the tire. This prevents irregular wear and the tire is usable for a longer period of time as a result.
